Description
The story of Jesus multiplying five small loaves and fishes in order to feed 5,000 men plus women and children is the only miracle – outside of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead – repeated in each of the four gospel accounts of his life. It is one of the seven signs in the gospel of John showing that Jesus is the Son of God. It is a miracle, a test, and an invitation to his followers to operate from the supernatural.
